Visit to ERI@N, NTU at CleanTech Park

Envcares Eco Impact Network visited ERI@N, NTU at CleanTech Park. Nice view at the 6th floor, close to the rather distinctive solar panels and the nature theme central corridor.
A warm welcome and presentation by Chang Chia Chien, Lead for sustainable management at the Energy Research Institute@NTU and Thirandi.
The lab tour was a good preview of many technologies that are been worked on and commercialized. A tour of ARROW labs where a variety of alternative clean technologies were been work on by various teams. Batteries is an area of interest and will impact faster as batteries have a lower operating life compared to solar panels.
And there is a nice sporty EV to look at. Amazingly the labs can connect to the paved road so vehicles can quickly take to the road. Also looked briefly at the vertical axes wind turbines – I had a small start up for Vertical Axis Wind Turbines13 years ago. Sometimes one is too early to get buy in.
I think we will have further discussions on areas of common interest.
